Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of The Nationals – NSW ![]() Trevor Khan was first elected into the Legislative Council in March 2007, and has been a dedicated supporter of the National Party as the Duty MLC for both Tamworth and Cessnock Electorates. Trevor Khan was born and raised in Wollongong, completing his tertiary education in Sydney after obtaining a Bachelor of Juris prudence and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of NSW. Whilst completing his Law degrees Trevor worked as a personnel officer and then, having completed his degrees, worked as an industrial relations officer with a major Australian company in both Sydney and the Latrobe Valley, Victoria. In late 1985, Trevor moved to Tamworth, where he practiced as a lawyer principally in the areas of Criminal and Family laws. Trevor became an Accredited Specialist Advocate and was well known about the court circuits in the north west of New South Wales, particularly as a former member of the Family Issues Committee of the NSW Law Society. After being elected to the Legislative Council in March 2007, Trevor Khan has held several significant parliamentary positions including his appointment as Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Nationals, in which he plays a key role in the formulation and development of policy. Trevor is a Member of General Purpose Standing Committee 3, which has recently delivered a report on the Privatisation of Prisons in New South Wales and is a Member of the Social Issues committee, which since his appointment, has delivered reports on Overcoming Indigenous Disadvantage in NSW and Homelessness and Low Cost Rental Accommodation. Trevor is also on the Standing Committee of ICAC which has delivered a report on the effectiveness of Whistleblower Legislation and now has been appointed to the Select Committee on the NSW Taxi Industry. Trevor and his wife Libby have two children, Jen and Nick, both of whom have now completed their schooling and are at university in Newcastle. Trevor Khan is passionate about the future of his community and believes that each community should possess a high level of basic services including education, health and law & order. Contact
