Member for Riverina ![]() Kay Hull was first elected to Parliament as the Federal Member of Riverina in 1998 and holds the position of chief National Whip in the House of Representatives. Kay is also the first NSW Nationals woman to be elected to Federal Parliament. Kay was born and raised in Guyra in NSW and worked in Sydney and overseas in the investment and tourism industry. Prior to entering Federal Parliament, Kay was a successful business owner-operator in Wagga Wagga. Kay is also a former councillor and Deputy Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga and board member of Tourism NSW. Kay’s community involvement has been extensive, with her passion for the tourism, youth and sporting industries evident. She was a board member of Tourism NSW, Chairman of the Council of Tourist Associations of NSW and Chairman of Tourism Wagga Wagga. Kay is a wife, mother and grandmother and is very devoted to caring for her family. Kay Hull is very passionate about representing the Riverina electorate and her main focuses have been on regional economic development, small business, health and aged care and disability issues. Kay firmly believes that no other party represents the needs of regional Australia as well as The Nationals and that The Nationals can make a difference in the lives of regional Australians. She is totally committed to the future of country people. Kay continues to fight for improved conditions in the Riverina electorate and funding for various projects, with the total funding the Riverina has received since she was elected exceeding $8 billion and continuing to increase. Since elected, Kay has had the community’s best interests in mind every step of the way, as she crossed the floor to vote against the sale of Telstra, strongly opposed the sale of Snowy Hydro,continually lobbies for the Coolac bypass, the duplication of the Hume Highway and the West St fly over at Gundagai. In the past years of devastating drought conditions, Kay has been pushing to ensure Exceptional Circumstances assistance has been extended to the many growers and businesses in the Riverina. Kay has been honoured as a Paul Harris fellow and is a recipient of the Rod Murdoch Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Tourism in New South Wales. About the Riverina electorate Riverina covers an area of approximately 42,201 sq km. The division is located in the south west of NSW and extends from Adjungbilly and Tumorrama in the east to Carrathool and Gunbar in the west and from Goolgowi, Naradhan and Ungarie in the north to Coleambally, Corobimilla and Uranquinty in the south. The rural cities of Wagga Wagga and Griffith are the largest centres. Towns include Coleambally, Coolamon, Cootamundra, Gundagai, Junee, Leeton, Narrandera,Stockinbingal, Tarcutta, Temora and West Wyalong. Contact
